Our Core Values

At Boone MB Church we embrace 8 Core Values.  These values are the things that we do all the time — at every stage of our ministries.

We Value:

1.      God as our Foundation: We believe that the greatest commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” (Matthew. 22:36-38).  We take scripture, prayer, worship, teaching and preaching seriously because they help us to gain maturity in our spiritual lives.  We believe that if we listen to God, His Spirit will lead us and we will follow.

 2.      Healthy Relationships: We believe that the 2nd greatest commandment is to “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew. 22:39). We believe that people were created for relationships and healthy relationships lead to a fulfilling life.  To build healthy relationships we encourage fellowship, care groups, tolerance, and addressing conflict in a loving way.  We believe that if we love each other as Christ loved us it will be evidence of our faith to others (John 13:34-35).

3.      Discipleship: We believe in the “Great Commission” of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20).  As Christians we are called to become disciples (followers of Jesus) and make disciples.

4.      Serving:  We believe that serving others is one of the highest callings we can accept.  Jesus said that he “did not come to be served but to serve.” (Matthew. 20:28)  Every member of the Boone MB Church should be serving in the Church in some capacity, preferably in the area of their gifts.

5.      Outreach: We believe that the unchurched matter to God and therefore matter to us.  Jesus’ mission on earth was to “seek and save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10) and that mission resonates with us.  We believe that it is more effective to reach out than expecting others to come to us.

6.      Excellence:  Excellence honors God and inspires people.  We commit to striving for excellence in everything we do.  Our leadership team strives for excellence in how we organize, strategize, and guide the Church.  “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord”  (Colossians 3:23).

7.      Harmony with Creation: We strive to be good stewards of the environment and show love and respect to all people, realizing that people are the pride of God’s creation.  (Psalm 24:1)

8.      Financial Stewardship: We believe that God cares about what we do with our money therefore we strive to handle our money wisely.  This means avoiding unnecessary debt, spending wisely and giving generously.  As a Church we have an established budget, we have accountability safeguards and are transparent with all of our income and expenditures.  We strive to be absolutely trustworthy with our finances.
